Zsako's phenomenon Tendon reaction or Zsako's phenomenon, described by first by Zsako and examined as follows: striking at the lower third of the quadriceps femoris muscle about 10 cm above the patella with a reflex hammer causes an upward movement of the patella because of a contraction of the whole muscle. Idiomuscular contraction Idiomuscular contraction (bulge) tested as described by Dotzauer and Prokop: striking at the biceps brachii muscle with the back of a knife causes a muscular bulge at the point of contact due to local contracture of the muscle. |
